I have a pEEping Tom!
April 30, 2006Privacy as we know it has been on the border line since the popularity of technology. As we heard in lecture there were some lavish, upscale parties being thrown and journalist used to infiltrate information by attending these parties. They had very slick ways to get information and later to report what happened whether it was a known figure that was gay or was “sleeping with the maid.”
My question is when will we have ultimate privacy with this new technology? The Internet has so much information that you would not know if someone posted video of you having sex in your house or if some pervert was taking pictures of you. Cameras can be disguised in any way. How will we ever know if there is someone secretly stalking you and posting personal information about you on the Internet? How will we KNOW?! An even better question to ask is as we are using these computers there is a file for everything that we do that anyone can easily hack into, even the government. After the Patriot Act, the government can now get into your business whenever they want if you point out key words linking to terrorism. Where is our privacy? What’s up with that? Any thoughts? The big question regarding that is, do we violate our right to privacvy for national securtiy?
